Glenn Mitchell is a Dallas area radio talk-show host who has a lunch time call-in show on local NPR affiliate KERA. His show featured intelligent and insightful guests who discussed politics, history, current events – a real wide range of topics. Glenn’s manner was very personable and likeable. I didn’t get to listen to much of his show but heard bits and pieces most days driving to and from lunch. Glenn Mitchell died Sunday, he was 55.
Election Day Editorials
I stood outside the polls yesterday with my signs and propaganda to encourage voters to vote against Amendment 2, “the marriage amendment” which defines marriage as being only between one man and one woman, but which also bans civil unions and probably will invalidate some wills, medical powers of attorney, etc. It is worth noting I was outside the “electioneering line” and my position was approved by the Election Judge. It wasn’t particularly fun but something I felt I should do. Below are some of the choice comments from random voters during the day:
Sony Taking DRM Too Far
I stumbled across this article today which explains how a computer spyware expert learned that Sony had planted a little stealth program onto his PC via a CD he bought published by Sony Music.
His explanation of how he found it was remarkably clear and simple for a civilian like myself. So, not only is the story notable simply for the revelation about Sony’s heinous actions (which are likely to get them sued) but it’s a good tech article as well.
It may be about time (again) to hose down my hard drive and spray it with bleach. As far as Sony’s spyware – I think I just threw up in my mouth a little.

Spamming Words of Wisdom
Do you ever pay the slightest attention to spam? I generally don’t, it just gets deleted. Lately I have noticed some of the names of the people sending the mail:
Resignedly B. Sebaceous
Parenthesized S. Sakai
Herb C. Commencing
Denis Meginnis
I guess all the good names were taken.
Moderation
Finally, a website for someone like me.
I’m always encouraged when someone doesn’t see things as only black & white or red & blue.
