Isn’t it really standard operating procedure anymore for the media to try and scare us about everything? We all know what happened to the space shuttle Columbia a few years back, and we don’t need constant reminders in every single…
Art Imitates Lives
In addition to the bars, restaurants and crap shacks on Duval St in Key West, there are quite a few stores where local artists offer their handiwork for sale. One of the better ones is a “co-op” called 7 Artists.…
A Strange and Challenging Week
It has been a very bizarre week for me. It’s over now, so YAY! \o/
Work has been quite rough, as opposed to just really busy as it has been for the past 3 months or so. Without going into detail (and I’m not really bitching here, just telling it matter-of-factly) I am completely covered up at work. Lots of conversations with the boss and others about how to make it better, bringing in more help, etc so we’ll see where that goes. A New Year, A Fresh Start
I’m glad 2005 is over.
Looking back, it wasn’t a bad year for me personally. Home life has been great and we’ve been able to spend a lot of quality time with our friends. Work has been good – and rewarding. But there has been so much negativity last year, and maybe it is my fault for focusing on it, but it has been brutal on me emotionally and on my spirit.
Glenn Mitchell
Glenn Mitchell is a Dallas area radio talk-show host who has a lunch time call-in show on local NPR affiliate KERA. His show featured intelligent and insightful guests who discussed politics, history, current events – a real wide range of topics. Glenn’s manner was very personable and likeable. I didn’t get to listen to much of his show but heard bits and pieces most days driving to and from lunch. Glenn Mitchell died Sunday, he was 55.
