I absolutely remember dimmer switches on the floor of cars. I got my driver's license in 1962, when I was 15 years old. My parents only let me drive a few times at night, but I know the dimmer switch was on the flooor. God, I had forgotten all about that. I almost never use my bright lights now, but I used them all the time in those early driving days.
